I am a rather adventurous person. I tend to put myself into situations just for the thrill of it. Actively deciding to drive through Hurricane Ida was not one of those times.
As an in-home dog sitter there is a lot of compromises I have to make:
- Sleeping in someone else’s house (with my dogs & family)
- Having to always have a night bag packed
- Thinking of the dogs that are in my care before myself most times
It is exactly that last bullet point that landed me in the scariest situation I have ever been put in and hope to never have to endure again.
